HOODOPLASTY

Hoodoplasty properly shapes the clitoral hood, i.e. the fold of skin covering the glans of the clitoris. When this fold of skin is too large, it covers the most sensitive part of the clitoris, which may negatively affect the quality of sexual life. In addition, such oversized clitoral hood may cause unattractive appearance of the intimate parts. The procedure unveils of the clitoral hood glans, which translates into improved quality of sexual life and more aesthetic appearance of the clitoris.
Hoodoplasty involves removal of excess skin over the clitoris and can be performed using laser or surgical techniques. During the procedure the shape or size of the clitoral hood is reduced. The procedure is performed under topical anaesthesia, and immediately after the procedure the Patient can return to daily activities. The procedure takes 30-60 minutes. The procedure can be combined with labioplasty, during which we reduce the labia and correct their asymmetry.

IS THE TREATMENT APPROPRIATE FOR ME?

The clitoris is a richly blooded and innervated organ, the visible part of which is located above the vaginal vestibule. The most sensitive part of the clitoris is the glans, from which the corpora cavernosa and clitoral rami run into the body. The glans of the clitoris is covered by the clitoral hood: a fold of skin. When it is disproportionately large, then it can negatively affect the quality of sexual life, because the skin limits access to the most sensitive area of the clitoris. In addition, such excess skin covering the clitoris may look unattractive. There may be yet another problem: the excess skin covering the clitoris may be a source of discomfort or even pain when wearing tight underwear or pants.
Hoodoplasty is dedicated to those women who suffer from the problem of oversized or asymmetrical clitoral hood. The Women who feel discomfort related to the unsightly appearance of the clitoris or have problems with reaching orgasm may opt for hoodoplasty. The procedure can be performed in any woman who experiences physical or emotional discomfort resulting from excessive skin fold growth over the clitoris.
Contraindication to the procedure include, among others, presence of problems with blood clotting, autoimmune diseases, cancer, unbalanced diabetes or serious heart diseases. In addition, the procedure cannot be performed in pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as during monthly bleeding.

I highly recommend!

PROCEDURE

During the consultation, we discuss the expected effect and chose the best method for the Patient. Before the procedure, topical anaesthetic is administered. A surgeon uses a laser knife, which promotes wound healing and minimises tissue damage.

EFFECT

Hoodoplasty is a cosmetic gynaecology procedure that allows for exposure of the most sensitive part of the clitoris: the glans. As a result, the clitoris is more sensitive, sex life is more satisfying and the Patient can achieve orgasms more easily. Moreover, the procedure helps to restore aesthetic appearance of the clitoris and eliminates discomfort associated with clitoral hood hypertrophy. It eliminates pain that may accompany, for example, wearing tight underwear or pants or appear during intercourse. The effects of the procedure are permanent, the procedure does not have to be repeated. Ultimately, the procedure helps restore woman’s self-confidence and higher self-esteem.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE?

Before any surgical procedure, several tests must be performed. It is the same with hoodoplasty. Before this cosmetic surgery procedure, the Patient should perform a blood count, blood group test, and determination of blood clotting parameters, such as APTT. Another indicated test is the determination of fasting glucose levels. Such tests should be performed no later than two weeks before the planned procedure. On the other hand, the Patient should perform tests for HBS, HCV and HIV antigen no later than three months before hoodoplasty. Women over the age of 40 should have an ECG done. A vaginal swab is also necessary.
Appropriate laboratory diagnostics are the most important element of preparation for the surgery, but not the only one. Two weeks before the procedure, smoking and the use of medicines that interfere with blood clotting should be limited, and on the day of the procedure depilation should be performed.

RECOVERY

During the first few days after the hoodoplasty procedure, the Patient may experience moderate pain and discomfort. In addition, there may be a slight swelling for a few days. Ice packs or over-the-counter painkillers may be helpful. During this time, the Patient should wear looser underwear and pants, and to refrain from intensive sports. It is necessary to give up bathing in a bathtub, as well as using a swimming pool or sauna. Until the wound heals, we also recommend to air the perineum, which means staying without underwear as often as possible. It is very important to maintain proper hygiene of the intimate area and wash the perineum with soap and water without using perfumed cosmetics that may irritate the skin. Hygiene procedures should be performed in the morning and evening, and after each use of the toilet. A follow-up visit is advisable after 7-10 days. Intercourse can be resumed about 4 weeks after the procedure.
